Overview

The Omnichannel onsite module includes vCard QR Code Support, enabling attendee badges to carry vCard data for quick and easy contact information sharing. This guide explains how to configure and use this feature to enhance networking and streamline badge printing at your events.

How the Feature Works

Setting up vCard QR codes involves two main steps: configuring vCard fields and designing the badge layout.

  • Create a new data source option for QR Code element: vCard
  • Use vCard for the printed QR code on Badges

1. Map vCard Fields

In the Attendee Module, under Field Customisation, there is a dedicated vCard Fields tab.

Here, you can map standard vCard attributes—such as:

  • Full Name
  • Organisation
  • Job Title
  • etc

to the corresponding Gevme fields. This mapping is saved per event and determines the information embedded in each badge’s QR code.

2. Design the Badge

Within the Badge Editor, you can configure a QR Code element to use vCard data following these steps:

  • Navigate to the Onsite Module and select Badges.
  • Choose an existing template or create a new one.

  • Add or select a QR Code element on the badge.

  • Under the Use this field dropdown, select vCard

The QR code will now be generated in vCard format using the mapped data.

Benefits for Event Organisers

  • Streamlined badge creation with standardized contact information
  • Enhanced networking through scannable contact sharing
  • Improved attendee experience with reduced manual contact exchange
